Pre-K Program

Pre-Kindergarten children leave St. James’ Preschool fully prepared for kindergarten.  Our Pre-K class will have no more than 10 children, which ensures that each child receives plenty of individual attention while working on such important skills. Pre-K children experience prime development skills for entering Kindergarten by using units and themes to complete activities in language development, mathematics, science, cooking, art and more to complement the literature. These students are encouraged to participate in more writing and pre-reading activities while still maintaining our work-through-play philosophy.

Pre-K students continue to develop their social skills by teacher encouragement to work together on solving problems. Our Pre-K children work this year on independence and creativity in the classroom to prepare them for kindergarten.  Children enrolled in Pre-K will graduate from St. James’ Preschool will an appreciation of themselves and others, a wealth of pre-reading skills and a love of learning. By the end of the school year, each child will accomplish their milestones as Pre-Kindergarteners and graduate as Kindergarteners.
