Faculty

The faculty at St. James’ Preschool are skilled educators who have been teaching young children for years. All teachers meet or exceed Maryland State requirements for their position and participate in annual professional development directly related to the early childhood education field. We are all so excited to welcome your children to St. James’ Preschool!

DSCF5127Ms. Sue Wallis, Volunteer/Substitute

I’ve been very blessed to have a long involvement in early childhood education. For the past 30+ years I’ve spent my days with our youngest, funniest, brightest young students as they begin their lifelong love of learning. My career began in BCPS teaching 2nd grade. I then spent time at home as a full time mommy to my daughter, Carrie, and son, Stephen. After teaching part time for the next 10 years (Kindergarten and 1st grade), my path led me to St. James’ Academy teaching 2nd grade again for 23 years. Since my retirement in 2015 I have enjoyed time with my family and friends. I especially love being close to my granddaughters, Isobel and Sylvie, since their move back to Maryland from Alabama. I’ve been a member of St. James’ Church since 1990. I was instrumental in establishing the Preschool, and these days I love spending my Tuesdays with the wonderful little kiddos here.

chelsea Ms. Chelsea Yeich: Afternoon Teacher: I have loved working with children ever since I was old enough to baby sit. I have experience as a nanny and a school photographer for about 5 years, working with children ages newborn to high school. I have a degree in graphic design and a passion for photography. In the afternoons, I’m able to use these gifts with the students to create an imaginative play and craft time as well as digitally capture those special moments!
